How We Got Here

01

The Challenge

Aquatic Plant Management sells high-end lake and pond equipment — fountains, aerators, de-icers, and water treatment systems that often run into the thousands of dollars.

02

Our Approach

We migrated Aquatic Plant Management from WordPress to Shopify, designing the storefront around the reality that these are considered purchases — customers need detailed specs, compatibility information, and expert guidance before committing.

03

The Build

The Shopify store was custom-built with product pages that handle complex variant configurations — different horsepower ratings, voltage options, cord lengths, and mounting styles.

Aquatic Plant Management sells high-end lake and pond equipment — fountains, aerators, de-icers, and water treatment systems that often run into the thousands of dollars. Their existing WordPress site couldn't handle the complexity of their product catalog, where each item has multiple specifications, voltage options, power cord lengths, and compatible accessories that customers need to verify before purchasing. They needed a platform that could present these technical details clearly while making it easy for buyers to configure the right setup for their specific water body.

We migrated Aquatic Plant Management from WordPress to Shopify, designing the storefront around the reality that these are considered purchases — customers need detailed specs, compatibility information, and expert guidance before committing. Using a combination of Shopify's native features, third-party apps, and custom code, we built a product experience that surfaces the right technical details at the right time, with smart filtering by product type, water body size, and power requirements.

The Shopify store was custom-built with product pages that handle complex variant configurations — different horsepower ratings, voltage options, cord lengths, and mounting styles. We integrated third-party apps for advanced product filtering and used custom Liquid code to display specification tables, compatibility notes, and add-on recommendations directly on each product page. Email marketing campaigns were set up to nurture leads through the longer consideration cycle these high-ticket items require, with automated flows for seasonal promotions and product education.
